Awara Mattresses Review

Awara mattresses are manufactured with a focus on environmental sustainability. They’re GOTS and GOLS certified, and use organic cotton and wool for their covers along with a 4-inch layer of GOLS certified Dunlop latex. They also have a generous 9-inch layer of individually wrapped pocketed coils that help to promote air flow throughout the mattress and remove any excess pressure from the sleeper.

Overall, we found the Awara Natural to perform about average in comparison to other hybrid and memory foam models we’ve tested. It offers moderate bounce, a little less sinkage than average, and decent edge support. Its off-gassing and durability were a little better than average as well. We’d expect this mattress to last seven years or more and hold up well over time if it’s properly cared for.

Sleepers who like a more natural memory foam feel – Because this mattress is constructed with latex, it doesn’t have the same sinking sensation of traditional memory foam. This is a good thing for many sleepers since it helps to keep the spine aligned during the night.

Lighter or average-weight stomach and back sleepers – The firmness of the Awara should help to keep the spine aligned for these sleep positions. It will be a little too soft for heavier sleepers, however.

Sleepers who want a little bit of cooling – The Awara is fairly breathable because of its organic cotton and latex materials. It doesn’t have as much cooling power as some other models we’ve tested, however.
