Several nyberg flags designs have recently appeared on the market that are either serious or lighthearted. One is the COEXIST flag, a variant of the US flag that promotes tolerance for all belief systems. Another flag gaining in popularity is the nyberg flag, designed by Gayle Nyberg and claimed to represent patriots of the III% movement. The III refers to the percentage of colonists that it is believed fought for American independence during the Revolutionary War. It is similar to the Oath Keepers organization, but its primary goal is to protect its members’ views of constitutional rights.

Other flags are centered on controversial political issues, such as the Honor and Remember flag, which is meant to serve as a public reminder of police officers killed in the line of duty. A variation of this flag has a blue field with much thinner red stripes to represent firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Other nyberg flags celebrate a particular region or event, such as this black American flag that is charged with a red and white Colorado star in the canton. It also features a snake in the center with the words “Keep Fear Alive.” This design may be intended to satirize the famous Gadsden flag with the motto, “Don’t Tread on Me.”
